The  inspector has finally looked at the house.  A few of the things on the list are 1. A new switch in the electrical box  2.  Replacement of an electrical outlet  3.  Paint on eaves in back yard   4.  Crack in foundation  5.  New roof.

We'll let you know what happens next.  Maybe we won't be moving for a bit.
The  following conversation took place between my children following this email.  It would be wise to read from the bottom up:

Are they requiring you to replace the roof for the deal to go through?

None of us want you to move yet, so you should say no and go back to live in your house for a couple more years. I'll hire a kid to shovel your drive during the winter and mow the lawn in the summer. Serious. I will if that's what it takes to keep you there.

We did replace the roof in the mid 80s.  The shock is that was about 30 years ago.  In a couple of years they will need a new roof.  So how do we handle this?  Since it is not in need of being replaced NOW.
